Just checked in Custom Hotel LAX. LA Marathon team had it all figured out. Hotel is reasonable both amenities and event special pricing.  Near LAX with free shuttle!

Opening night destination is a small milonguita in El Segundo. Bon fire gathering is happening right now, but I will skip that one.
